Knowing The Backpacking Terms

Some people may be unfamiliar with the terms frequently used in backpacking and world tourism in general. Here is an explanation of several terms that are often encountered:

Dormitory
Dormitory is one type of room provided a guesthouse or hostel. Residents dormitory filled some people who hardly know each other before. Usually, the dormitory filled with 4 to 10 people who sleep in the same room. Dormitory occupants demanded a very high tolerance, such as not smoking or noise in the room. Dormitory is very popular among backpackers because of cheaper rates.

Hostel
Hostel is a place to stay with the facilities used jointly by the residents, such as bathrooms, living room and kitchen. Therefore, the hostel dwellers had a greater chance to socialize with other guests. In addition to dormitory, hostel also provides private rooms like a hotel.

Guesthouse
Guesthouse fact that most ordinary house rooms rented to guests. Guesthouse owner living in the same building and managed his own family members.

Pension
This is just another term for the guesthouse. The word “retirement” is often used in Turkey or countries around the Mediterranean sea. Owner retiring usually also lived in the same building. Read more

Hong Kong, the combination of grandeur & Classical

Hong Kong, a city that never sleeps. Indeed it is precisely the nickname given to the city this former British colony. Imagine, the city is always busy with the frenetic life, began to dawn until the night before.

Understand it, a city of 7 million people is one of the centre of all activities in Asia. Not only the trade centre, Hong Kong is also famous for fashion and industrial centre in Asia. However, the beauty of Hong Kong does not just stop at that activity alone. Behind its crowded, Hong Kong turned out to deviate myriad charms that invite admiration of tourists.

Hong Kong Special Administrative Region is one of two areas that are part of the People’s Republic of China, the other being Macau. On July 1, 1997, this area was officially handed over the British Government to the Chinese.

Hong Kong enjoys autonomy from the PRC Government as the legal system, currency, customs, immigration, and regulatory road running in the left lane. Hong Kong consists of Hong Kong Island, Kowloon and New Territories when sorted from the south. In the northern New Territories Shenzhen City on the other side there are Sham Chun River (Shenzhen River). Read more
